             can and rolling it into 2 balls of equal size. Next I placed them in front of the child and
             Nikki: Are these circles the same?"
             Nikki: Why do you think it's the same?
             Child: Because this is blue and this is blue
             **Here I began to roll one of the balls into a sausage**
             Nikki: You'll see (then I place the sausage down on the table beside the ball)
             **Here is when I began to roll the snake back into a ball. While doing so, the child
             picked up the un-changed ball and began to try to roll it into a snake, after which she
             rolled it back into a ball. Then she put her ball beside my ball and then picked it up again
             and began to roll it into a snake over and over again. She asked me to do the same with
             my ball. I did it 2 more times for her.**
             Nikki: (then placed my ball back on the table beside the other one and said) Are these balls the same?
             **Here is where we put the Playdough away and proceeded to the second experiment**
             Task #2: Conservation of length (using two wide ribbons of equal size and length
             For this part of the assignment we were supposed to look at a preoperational child's
             conservation of length. Here I took two red ribbons (12 inches in length, 2 cm in width)
             and lined them up on the table in front of the child. Then I asked:
             Child: Because they're red (Then she picked up one of her toys and said, "this is like red too, it's orange, and here's blue, and purple, and green, and red like this (pointed back to the ribbons).
             Child: Because they're both red
             Nikki: (Here I moved the top ribbon over 3 inches to the right) Is it still the same?
