In all actuality "The media sets standards that create an idealized image of feminine beauty, which then become subconsciously etched in every woman's mind" (Schneider 67). When really breaking it down while trying to be skeptical and not cynical it is apparent however that "poor body image, and low self esteem are related to the intense social and cultural pressures on women to conform to a thin ideal of feminine attractiveness that is unnatural for most women"(Garner and Kearney-Cooke 55). The ideal feminine attractiveness that is dangerous and unnatural is portrayed through the media, hence they are whom crate these messages that so negatively effect women and young girls.
Once the culprit is uncovered it is easier to analyze the techniques used in order to attract ones attention.
