When he was in high school, he would always "battle" (one person freestyles to another person, and they see who is the better freestyler, by making fun of whoever is against them) the other students. Later, Eminem decided to drop out of high school. After freestyling at a radio station in Los Angeles, the famous Dr. Dre noticed this new talent and was very impressed with Eminem's ability to rap. He then set out a manhunt for this fresh new talent, Eminem. Dr. Dre then signed Eminem to his record label Aftermath (Biography).
             Eminem has several controversies surrounding him. One major controversy is the relationship between him and his mother. They do not get along, as many can see through his lyrics. He uses his lyrics as a relief to the way he feels. It is just a way to get out all of his anger, and nothing else. He was brought up watching his mother use drugs. Eminem was too young to understand it at the time, but now he understands what he has went through. He states in the song "Cleanin Out My Closet," "Just try to vision your momma poppin' prescription pills in the kitchen." That is just one song; he says it many other times in his other songs. Other than the fact that he watched his mother using drugs, he feels sorry for all the bad times him and his mother have gone through together. One thing is true; he is ready to move on with his life. Eminem says in the song "Cleanin' Out My Closet," "I'm sorry momma, I never meant to hurt you...I never meant to make you cry, but tonight, I'm cleanin' out my closet." Just by reading those couple of lines, one can see that he is ready to move on through his problems. One can also see that he truly is sorry for the bad relationship they share together.
