             United Parcel Service and Globalization
             U.P.S. is the largest express carrier and largest package carrier in the world. The United Parcel Service is now 94 years old. They have done the things necessary in order to stay alive, never mind establish themselves the way they have. In their history, UPS has done many revolutionary ideas, which have totally changed the way shipping is done today. They are the industry leaders, whom every other company tries to imitate.
             Their mission statement is straight forward, and to the point, which makes it easy for their employees to reach their goals. UPS has established a set of strategies, also. These also make it that much easier for them to meet their mission. UPS, also, has many different kinds of services to offer to the consumer. In addition, they have laid goals for the future, in order to stay on top.
             By looking at their financial statements, it seems as though they continually pull in more and more money, quarter after quarter. This company seems to be one of the only stable companies, which are on the stock market. They are such a powerful company, that they have many subsidiaries. These companies are powerful companies, on their own. UPS seems to be paving the way for all their competitors.
             Jim Casey originally created U.P.S. in 1907. Mr. Casey borrowed $100 from a friend of his and founded American Messenger Company, in Seattle. In 1913, the founder, Jim Casey, began putting all the packages for one area into one delivery truck. He also merged with one of his competitors to form Merchants Parcel Delivery. The company expanded its operations to Oakland, California, using the current name: United Parcel Service, in 1919.
